July 4 Parade

To celebrate the opening of its latest building, Smart Hall, in 1996, the Aspen Center for Physics entered a float in Aspen's Fourth of July Parade. Einstein, played by Syd Meshkov, and escorted by a bevy of red jeeps and physicists on bicycles, was featured in the parade. Steve Berry is organizing a reprisal of that “float.” The Aspen Center for Physics is proud to be a member of the Aspen community, and to participate in community events.

Line up along the parade route for the town's 12 noon parade. Join the parade's Grand Marshals – founders Michael Cohen, Robert Craig and George Stranahan – in celebrating 50 years of physics and 236 years of the United States.
