Bicycle Information

It is our pleasure to provide our summer participants with bicycles.

So that we will be able to continue this tradition, we ask that you observe the following ground rules:

• Available bikes are on the West Side of Bethe Hall.
• Pick out the bike you wish to use and find the number on the bar of the bike.
• Match the number to the bike card located in the box on the desk in Stranahan Hall.
• Print your name and the date on the bike card. The combination to your bike lock will be found on the card.
• Sign a bike release form and leave it on the reception desk.
• Due to a limited supply, bicycles for family members are only available from Tuesday to Sunday of each week. Please return them on Sunday afternoon until the following Tuesday. Family members will be charged a maintenance fee of $25. We've found that family members put more wear and tear on bicycles than physicists!
• When at the Center, please keep your bike locked at the bike rack next to the parking lot. Do not leave your bike on the campus lawn or in the offices.
• Please lock your bike at all times!
• Do not bring your bicycle into your apartment.
• If your bicycle has a flat tire or other problem, please notify the staff. For slow leaks, there is a pump for your use in Stranahan's lobby.
• Please return your bike in clean, good-working condition to the bike area at the West Side of Bethe, where you picked it up, then cross your name off the bike card inside Stranahan. If there is a problem with it, please leave a note on the front desk.
• We encourage the use of bicycle helmets when riding, and we have a limited supply available for your use.
